We were engaged by Newarts Art to develop the branding and campaign for their annual gala. The annual galas celebrate the accomplishments of a Newark resident whose efforts have made significant impacts in the lives of fellow citizens. When we received the brief describing all the activities and accomplishments of Dr. Clement Price we were overwhelmed with how we could simplify the impressive CV into a single visual theme. Newark Arts uses the phrase, "If Not For" followed by the name of person being honored. We decided to go with a simple solid black base and a white knock-out, and then to use the list of accomplishments as a visual pattern. What first appears as letters or writing is soon realized to be seemingly unending list of accomplishments.
